About Me

Why I Do This Work

I know what it feels like to understand something intellectually, yet still find yourself repeating the same patterns.

To overthink when you wish you could trust yourself. To hold back when you want to speak up. To question yourself, wait until you feel “ready,” or know exactly what you should do - yet still struggle to actually do it.

For a long time, I thought confidence was something I needed to find before I could move forward. But through my own experiences, and nearly 20 years of working therapeutically with people, I began to understand something much more important:

Our behaviour often makes far more sense when we understand what sits underneath it.

The people-pleasing. The procrastination. The perfectionism. The difficulty setting boundaries. The overthinking after a conversation. The fear of getting something wrong.

These aren't simply things we need to tell ourselves to “stop doing.” There is often a reason we've learned to respond the way we do.

And that's why I do this work.

I want to help people understand themselves without judgement, recognise the patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and develop practical ways of responding differently -whether that's speaking up, setting a boundary, making a decision, taking an opportunity or simply trusting themselves a little more.

Because understanding yourself is powerful. But learning how to do something different with that understanding is where change begins.

My Background & Unique Edge

I’m a traditionally trained psychotherapist with nearly 20 years of experience working with hundreds of people, both one-to-one and in groups.

Over those years, I’ve helped people understand the beliefs and patterns shaping their behaviour, build healthier relationships with themselves and others, and make meaningful changes in their lives.

But I've also learned that understanding why we do something doesn't automatically mean we know how to do it differently.

We can have enormous insight into ourselves and still people-please. Still overthink. Still struggle to set a boundary. Still procrastinate on something that matters to us. Still find ourselves repeating a response we promised ourselves we wouldn't repeat again.

That's the gap I'm particularly interested in: the space between understanding yourself and actually being able to respond differently.

I've also become increasingly concerned by how casually psychological language can be used online. Complex human behaviour is often reduced to labels like “trauma”, “toxic” or “narcissist”, when the reality is usually far more nuanced.

So I wanted to create something different.

Psychology that's grounded in real therapeutic knowledge, explained in a way that makes sense - and, most importantly, gives you something useful to do with it.

My Philosophy

This Is What I Believe

  • Understanding yourself changes how you respond to yourself. When we understand what's underneath a behaviour, we can replace judgement with curiosity - and begin doing something differently.

  • Knowing what to do and being able to do it in the moment are not the same thing. Real change comes from practising new responses, not simply collecting more insight.

  • Confidence isn't something you have to wait for. Often, it grows through doing the thing - speaking up, setting the boundary, making the decision or taking the step - even when you still feel uncertain.

  • Fear doesn't have to disappear before you move forward. You can learn to feel discomfort without automatically allowing it to make your decisions for you.

  • Your patterns are not your identity. The ways you've learned to respond can be understood, questioned and, where they're no longer serving you, changed.

That's the philosophy behind my work.

Whether I'm teaching communication, boundaries, self-trust or helping someone understand the deeper patterns underneath their behaviour, my aim is the same: less judgement, more understanding - and practical tools that help you actually do something differently.

The Bigger Vision

For me, this work is about something bigger than confidence, boundaries or knowing the right thing to say.

I want psychology to feel useful in everyday life.

Not something you only encounter in a therapy room, and not complicated language that leaves you with another label for yourself - but something that helps you understand what's happening in the moments that actually matter.

Why did I say yes when I wanted to say no?

Why do I keep overthinking that conversation?

Why am I so afraid of disappointing someone?

Why do I know exactly what I should do, but still struggle to do it?

I believe that when we understand ourselves better, we have more choice in how we respond.

We can communicate differently. Set healthier boundaries. Take opportunities. Trust our own judgement. Recognise old patterns without automatically following them.

And little by little, those different choices can change the way we experience our relationships, our work and ourselves.

That's the bigger vision behind everything I create: psychology that helps you understand yourself - and gives you practical ways to do something different with what you discover.

Transformation Isn’t Instant - It’s a Journey

One thing my years of therapeutic work have taught me is that meaningful change rarely happens in one dramatic moment.

You can have an incredible insight, read the right book or finally understand why you behave the way you do - and still find yourself slipping back into an old pattern when life gets difficult.

Because understanding is important, but change comes through practice.

It happens when you begin noticing your patterns as they're happening. When you pause before automatically responding. When you try something different - even if it feels uncomfortable. And when you keep practising until that new response starts to feel more available to you.

There are no promises of overnight confidence, perfect boundaries or a life without fear and self-doubt.

What I can offer you is something much more grounded: psychological understanding, practical tools and strategies designed to help you turn insight into action.

Because this work isn't about becoming a completely different person.

It's about understanding yourself well enough to have more choice in who you are, what you say and what you do next.

A Little About Me (Beyond the Work)

Like most of us, I play many roles - I’m a mother, daughter, wife, sister, therapist, and a friend.

When I’m not working, writing, or disappearing down a philosophical rabbit hole, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, walking in nature with my friends having deep conversations, cycling, listening to a good audiobook, or drinking probably more matcha than necessary.

My desk is rarely perfectly tidy. It’s usually covered in toys kids drop in, and notebooks full of weird and wonderful ideas, some of which make it into the world... and plenty that don’t.

And behind everything I’ve built is a wonderful circle of family and friends who have supported, encouraged and occasionally put up with all those ideas along the way.

My Spiritual Journey

Alongside my work as a therapist and coach, I’ve also walked a deeply personal spiritual journey. Exploring spirituality has been a big part of my own healing and growth . It’s helped me reconnect with myself, find a deeper sense of purpose, and trust that I’m supported even when life feels uncertain.

That said, I believe spirituality is personal. My coaching isn’t about telling you what to believe; it’s about helping you connect with your own values, wisdom, and truth. Whether your strength comes from faith, science, nature, or your own inner compass, my role is to help you align with it and use it as fuel for your growth.
